A New Year full of Possibilities.

our tiny ocean view

A Happy New Year to you all, and I hope 2012 will bring mostly good things to the world.
Don't forget to see what is right in front of you, and look forward, with the knowledge what lays behind.

Keep dreaming your dreams with both feet firmly planted on the earth.

Resolutions?
How about doing more of what worked in the past.
And stop doing what didn't feel right.

For me personally it means I should stop setting myself unrealistic goals, because nothing feels as bad as disappointing myself with myself.
Instead I am going to concentrate on a few steps at a time, not the whole journey. Lets face it; the direction in the journey changes all the time, since change is the only constant element. So any results can't be predicted/promised.
Just go with the flow and see where it'll take me.

And this is what I'd like to do more of this year : felting.
All these items I made last February, during a long weekend retreat.
I hadn't felted for a while, or since.
Cookie-monster scarf.
And I reminded myself how I love felting, how magic it feels to imagine an idea and then to make it happen.
To go to that place within and be "in the Flow" where time does not exist, or at least seems to stretch.

Blue 1-piece felt necklace with silk.
To play with colours and know when to stop.
To know what the wool is capable of, to feel it changing shape under your fingers.
Understanding when to be gentle and when to be forceful.

Listening to the felt to give it the right finish, for a smooth, crisp look.

Black felt one-piece shoulder-bag with red silk.
And , without trying to be big-headed about this, knowing that I am actually quite good at this art, this ancient yet new again skill.

Yes! to more of this in 2012!
What are you going to do more of this year?
